under the Biosecurity Act 2014

          1. Selective Prevention and Control Program for European Rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

          2. Selective Surveillance Program for European Rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

The purpose and scope of the Selective Prevention and Control Program is to eradicate populations of rabbits and prevent re-establishment of populations in the DDMRB operational area.

The purpose and scope of the Selective Surveillance Program is to aid in identifying and monitoring the distribution and the extent of populations of rabbits in the DDMRB operational area.

The DDMRB operational area includes the following local government areas, as shown on Figure 1:

Western Downs Regional Council, Toowoomba Regional Council, Southern Downs Regional Council, Scenic Rim Regional Council, Ipswich City Council, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Logan City Council and City of Gold Coast.

The programs will commence on 1 January 2024 and continue until 31 December 2024.

Section 94
Notice of Entry to Access Rabbit Fence

As the building authority for the rabbit barrier fence (the fence), and in accordance with section 94 of the Biosecurity Act 2014 (the Act), the Darling Downs-Moreton Rabbit Board (DDMRB) gives notice that for the period 1 January – 31 December 2024, generally between the hours of 5:00am and 6:00pm, it is proposed DDMRB will enter onto land that is considered necessary to inspect and maintain the fence, including to inspect and maintain gates and grids, and to clear the fence line.  The fence traverses land in the Western Downs, Toowoomba, Southern Downs and Scenic Rim Regional Council areas.
